WILD MILE was founded in 2021 by Jonny Bird.
We have always had a passion for exploring the wild places of the UK, with a particular fondness for our local areas of Northumberland and the Lake District. We want to share these places, and the experiences they can offer with YOU!

At WILD MILE we want to:

Create relaxed, inclusive environment, where everyone feels welcome.

Respect the environment and the wild places we love so much.

Help people to become safe and independent in the mountains.

Admin and Customer Relations

Ardy has a vast array of skills he is able to offer the team - he is a leading expert in chasing tennis balls and puppy dog eyes! When he is not having a nap, Ardy likes to help answer emails and chew on his toys.

At WILD MILE all all our instructors are fully qualified, insured, first aid trained, Enhanced DBS checked, experienced, members of the MTA and BMC and last but not least friendly!

At WILD MILE we think it is important to be good instructors, but we also think it is important to do good as instructors.

As part of this, we commit to donating 10% of our annual profits to charity as a way of helping to look after those less fortunate than us. We have chosen Christians Against Poverty (CAP) as this years charity - an organisation that works with those struggling with financial problems and works towards helping people become debt free. To find out more about the work of CAP, you can visit their website at or chat to us!
